NICOS CHINESE HEALTH COALITION

NICOS Chinese Health Coalition is a San Francisco–based 501(c)(3) community health organization that focuses on improving health outcomes for Chinese residents through culturally and linguistically tailored programs, advocacy, research, training, and coalition-building. The organization traces its roots to community collaborators in the mid-1980s and has held tax-exempt status since the early 1990s. NICOS operates direct services and population-level initiatives including healthcare navigation/enrollment assistance, problem-gambling prevention and treatment outreach, community health fairs, and provider cultural-competency training. In recent years NICOS has continued active partnerships with public health and academic partners and has been named a grantee in regional navigator programs supporting enrollment and outreach (2024–2027 funding cycle). The organization is positioned as a long-standing community intermediary delivering outreach, public-health education, and targeted interventions for Chinatown and broader San Francisco Chinese populations, and it routinely collaborates with health systems and research teams to inform equitable service delivery and policy recommendations.
