Hawaii Children's Action Network (HCAN)

Hawaii Children's Action Network (HCAN) is an independent, nonpartisan 501(c)(3) advocacy organization based in Honolulu that uses data, coalition-building, and public engagement to improve the health, safety, and early-learning outcomes of Hawaiʻi's children. HCAN convenes statewide coalitions, conducts policy research, and trains community leaders to advance systems-level changes that support families and young children. HCAN serves as a fiscal sponsor and program incubator for child-focused initiatives (for example, Hawaiʻi Diaper Bank) and runs campaigns and coalitions addressing early childhood education, family economic security, and child health. In the past 2–3 years HCAN has supported disaster recovery and supply-distribution efforts and continued advocacy to expand preschool access and supports for early educators while sustaining community training and outreach.
