About INSTITUTE FOR JEWISH AND COMMUNITY RESEARCH

The Institute for Jewish and Community Research (IJCR) was founded in 1998 as an independent research think tank focused on Jewish demographics, philanthropy, and antisemitism. Under the leadership of Gary Tobin the organization launched Be’chol Lashon ("In Every Tongue"), which has become the Institute’s primary programmatic identity and public-facing work. Today the organization operates under the Be’chol Lashon banner and offers research, educational resources (Passport to Peoplehood), DEIB trainings for Jewish institutions, a multicultural leadership summer camp (Camp Be’chol Lashon), a speakers bureau, and publications (Jewish& / JewishDiversityStories). In recent years Be’chol Lashon has relaunched its website and Jewish& publication, continued Camp Be’chol Lashon programming, provided DEIB training to dozens of Jewish organizations, and organized community events and innovation-hub projects to amplify diverse Jewish voices.

Notable achievements

Founding of Be’chol Lashon

Launched from IJCR research in 2000, Be’chol Lashon grew into the organization’s primary initiative to celebrate and serve racially, ethnically, and culturally diverse Jews.

Camp Be’chol Lashon

Established as a multicultural Jewish leadership camp (since 2008/2009) that continues to run annually and provide leadership, community building, and Jewish education to diverse campers.

Relaunch of Jewish& and Website

In the last 2–3 years the organization relaunched Jewish& as JewishDiversityStories.org and updated its globaljews.org website to broaden storytelling, resources, and training offerings.
