About Children’s Theatre Association of San Francisco
Children’s Theatre Association of San Francisco (CTA) is an all-volunteer, donor-facing 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1934 that produces live musical theatre for school children across the Bay Area. CTA operates with volunteer membership for most production roles while employing two professional directors and technical staff to mount its seasonal productions. CTA runs a robust school-show program and public weekend performances out of the Presidio Theatre (San Francisco), making thousands of free or low-cost seats available to area schools each season. In recent years CTA has remained active with annual mainstage productions (including a widely attended Peter Pan run in 2024) and continues to schedule school reservations and public ticket sales for upcoming seasons.
