About GIRL SCOUTS OF HAWAII

Girl Scouts of Hawaiʻi (GSH) is the chartered Girl Scout council serving the state of Hawaiʻi. Established in 1917, the council delivers year-round leadership, outdoor, STEM, financial literacy, and community service programs across Oʻahu and the neighbor islands. GSH operates camps and service centers (including Camp Paumalu) and runs the local Girl Scout Cookie and product programs to fund troop experiences and council programming. The council serves girls and adult volunteers statewide and partners with corporations, foundations, and national STEM and education organizations to expand opportunities for youth.

Notable achievements

Camp Paumalū STEM Center for Excellence

Completed and launched a dedicated STEM Center at Camp Paumalū on Oʻahu’s North Shore; the facility has hosted STEM camps and programming (first camps held in 2022) offering hands-on experiences in robotics, astronomy, coding, environmental science and related fields.

Statewide membership and program reach

Maintains an active statewide program infrastructure (headquarters on Oʻahu with neighbor-island service centers) supporting thousands of girl and adult members through troop activities, outdoor experiences, leadership development, and Gold Award projects that deliver measurable community impact.

Local Product Program to fund programs

Operates the Girl Scout Cookie and product programs locally so proceeds directly support council programming, camps, and troop-led projects that teach entrepreneurship and financial literacy to girls.
