About The Friends of ʻIolani Palace
The Friends of ʻIolani Palace is the nonprofit organization that operates ʻIolani Palace as the State of Hawaiʻi Museum of Monarchy History. Founded in 1966, the Friends lead preservation, restoration, exhibition, and public programming to maintain the Palace as a living restoration and educational museum. The organization manages docent-led and specialty tours, collections stewardship, exhibitions, membership and development activities, and conservation projects on behalf of the Palace building and grounds. The Friends work in partnership with the State of Hawaiʻi and community partners to protect the National Historic Landmark and to share Hawaiian monarchy history with residents and visitors.
