About PATCH (People Attentive to Children)

PATCH (People Attentive to Children) is Hawaii’s statewide child care resource and referral agency, providing free referral services to families, training and professional development for child care providers, and program administration support in partnership with state agencies. The organization operates programs that help families find and pay for licensed and registered child care, offers Early Childhood Education (ECE) scholarships and training for caregivers, and supports nutrition and family child care programs across multiple islands. In recent years PATCH has maintained large-scale program operations (FY2024 revenues in the low millions and a high program-spend ratio), continued island-wide service delivery, published annual reports and regular program newsletters, and worked in partnership with the State of Hawaii on subsidy, food program, and preschool access initiatives.
