About HAWAII ROTARY YOUTH FOUNDATION

The Hawaii Rotary Youth Foundation (HRYF) is a Honolulu‑based 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 1976 to support Hawaii high school seniors through college scholarships and awards. HRYF partners with Rotary clubs across Hawai‘i (District 5000), donors, alumni and foundation grants to fund one‑time, non‑repayable scholarships for students who demonstrate academic achievement, community involvement and, in many cases, financial need.

HRYF’s signature scholarships include club‑nominated $5,000 awards for graduating seniors and larger named awards (for example the Maurice J. Sullivan and Joanna Lau Sullivan Scholar Awards). The foundation has operated continuously since 1977 and runs an annual application/selection cycle coordinated with participating Rotary clubs.

In recent years HRYF has continued to award roughly $250,000+ in scholarships each year, sustained an endowed grant relationship to support expansion of awards, and maintained reserves and investment income to ensure ongoing scholarship distributions.
