The Alcoholic Rehabilitation Services of Hawaii, Inc., doing business as Hina Mauka, is a Kaneohe-based nonprofit providing a full continuum of substance use disorder treatment and recovery supports across Oʻahu and other islands. Hina Mauka operates residential (including a 48-bed residential program), detox, day treatment, intensive outpatient and outpatient services for adults, plus school-based Teen CARE services for adolescents. Hina Mauka serves specialized populations through programs for court‑ordered clients, services for homeless clients, and culturally informed therapeutic communities; it maintains state licensing and national accreditation and partners with Hawaii state agencies, schools, and health insurers to expand access. In recent years the organization has sustained multi-year accreditation and secured state funding and contracts to support program operations and facility improvements.

CARF Three-Year Reaccreditation

Maintained continuous CARF accreditation with a three-year accreditation cycle (most recent multi-year accreditation period beginning in 2023), demonstrating adherence to national standards for addiction and integrated mental health services.

State Licensure and Ongoing Contracts

Holds a Hawaiʻi Department of Health Special Treatment Facility (STF) license for residential services and has received multi-year state grants and contracts to support treatment, prevention, and facility improvements in the 2023–2026 period.

Expanded School‑Based Teen CARE Services

Operates CARF‑accredited Teen CARE school-based outpatient programs across Oʻahu and Kauaʻi, providing prevention and treatment services to adolescents in multiple middle and high schools.
