The REHAB Foundation supports REHAB Hospital of the Pacific’s mission to rebuild lives together by funding programs, technology, education and community services that help people with physical and cognitive disabilities — including stroke, traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury — to recover and return to their communities.

About REHABILITATION HOSPITAL OF THE PACIFIC FOUNDATION

The REHAB Foundation, established in 1984, is the philanthropic arm of REHAB Hospital of the Pacific and exists to support Hawaii’s only acute-care rehabilitation hospital. It raises funds to expand access to advanced rehabilitation services, purchase technology and equipment, and underwrite community programs that help patients and families regain independence. The Foundation operates donor-facing fundraising programs and signature events (for example The Joy of Food & Wine and the REHAB Golf Challenge) and directs gifts to patient care, adaptive sports, support groups, and an information center connecting survivors with rehabilitation resources. All gifts are used locally in Hawaii to benefit patients, families, and community rehabilitation initiatives.

REHAB’s Stroke Center reports an inpatient stroke return-to-home/community rate of approximately 79%, substantially higher than the cited national comparison (about 51%), reflecting strong inpatient-to-community recovery outcomes.

Major fundraising outcomes (2024–2025)

Signature events have raised significant operating funds in recent years, with the 2025 Joy of Food & Wine raising over $440,000 and the 2025 REHAB Golf Challenge raising over $208,000 to support patient programs and hospital services.
