About WAIMANALO HEALTH CENTER

Waimānalo Health Center (WHC) is a federally qualified community health center serving Waimānalo and surrounding communities on Oʻahu. WHC provides comprehensive primary and preventive care — including medical, dental, behavioral health, vision, pharmacy, WIC, and culturally grounded Maʻiola services — with an explicit focus on improving access for Native Hawaiian and medically underserved populations. In recent years WHC has maintained and expanded its community-facing services across three clinic sites, operated a school-based health clinic at Waimānalo Elementary & Intermediate School, and launched community support programs (including housing assistance) while retaining federal Health Center Program funding and PHS-deemed status.

Notable achievements

Gold Health Center Quality Leader Award (2025)

Recognized in 2025 as a Health Center Quality Leader, ranking among the top 10% of health centers nationally for clinical quality and performance.

Hale Kōkua Waiwai Program launch (2026)

Launched a housing support program to provide rent and mortgage assistance to Native Hawaiian families/individuals on Oʻahu, expanding WHC's social support services beyond clinical care.

Three-site community clinic network & school-based care

Operates three clinic sites (Hale Ola ʻAkahi, Hale Ola ʻAlua, Hale Ola ʻAkolu Luluku) and a school-based health clinic at Waimānalo Elementary & Intermediate School, delivering integrated primary care, dental, behavioral health, vision, pharmacy and WIC services to the local community.
