To assist education, government, community agencies, business and labor in maintaining cultural literacy and improving quality and equality in educational programs by developing and disseminating effective educational products and procedures, conducting research on educational needs and issues, providing technical assistance, and offering training in educational planning, management, evaluation, and instruction.

About PACIFIC RESOURCES FOR EDUCATION AND LEARNING

Pacific Resources for Education and Learning (PREL) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Honolulu that partners with schools, educators, families, and communities across the U.S.-affiliated Pacific to strengthen teaching and learning and to integrate culturally responsive practices. PREL conducts applied research, develops instructional resources, provides professional development, and delivers technical assistance tailored to Pacific island contexts. In recent years PREL has continued to publish regional education resources, lead STEM and literacy projects in Micronesia and the Marshall Islands, and manage federally funded education contracts and grants serving Pacific schools.

Developed and distributed regionally tailored early literacy and instructional toolkits and briefing papers used by schools and educators across the Pacific to support standards-aligned instruction and culturally responsive teaching.

Led NSF- and federally-supported projects

Served as lead organization on multi-year, externally funded projects (including geo-literacy and Pacific-focused STEM initiatives) and obtained federal/state grants to support education research and capacity building in Pacific jurisdictions.

Maintained long-standing partnerships with Pacific school systems, government agencies, and regional research networks to deliver professional development, program evaluation, and technical assistance tailored to island communities.
