About AHAHUI O KAUKA ASSOCIATION OF NATIVE HAWAIIAN PHYSICIANS
‘Ahahui o nā Kauka (Association of Native Hawaiian Physicians) is a membership-based nonprofit of Native Hawaiian physicians, residents and medical students founded to advance physician leadership and improve health outcomes for Kānaka Maoli. The organization’s stated vision is a healthy, thriving community of Native Hawaiian people and its work emphasizes collaboration, cultural values, mentoring, education and advocacy.
In recent years the group has remained active in public health advocacy and professional development: it organized and promoted events addressing climate change and health (Aloha ʻĀina conference, January 11–12, 2024), issued position statements on national and regional policy issues (including statements in 2023), and participated in regional Indigenous physician forums and resolutions on health and climate. The organization maintains an active nonprofit registration in Hawaiʻi and a public website with updates, leadership listings and program information.
