HAWAIIAN COMMUNITY ASSETS INC

Hawaiian Community Assets (HCA) is a statewide nonprofit housing counseling and community development organization founded in 2000 that focuses on financial education, homeowner support, and pathways to affordable housing with a particular focus on Native Hawaiian families. HCA operates programs including homebuyer assistance, financial counseling, and a rent-with-option-to-purchase program (Ua Hale Aʻela) and reports serving tens of thousands of residents through workshops and direct services. Recent organizational impact figures published by HCA highlight over 22,000 residents served with financial education, more than 7,300 children and adults housed in affordable units, and $165+ million accessed to support affordable housing. In the last 2–3 years HCA has expanded its island presence and housing portfolio, launched and scaled Ua Hale Aʻela to support wildfire survivors and other families, and received major foundation support to grow rent-to-own housing options across multiple islands.
