About WAI-ANAE COMMUNITY RE-DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
WAI-ANAE COMMUNITY RE-DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (WCRC) is the legal nonprofit that operates MAʻO Organic Farms, a social-enterprise nonprofit founded in 2000 and based in Waiʻanae, Oʻahu. MAʻO runs a large certified organic farm enterprise co-managed by youth interns and apprentices and provides education, paid internships, college tuition support, and workforce pathways grounded in Hawaiian cultural values.
The organization’s programming targets out-of-school and at-risk youth through hands-on agricultural work, leadership development, and college-to-career pathways while also advancing local food production and community resilience. In recent years WCRC/MAʻO has expanded its work into community land stewardship and pilot affordable housing and financial-literacy initiatives to strengthen long-term community stability.
