About NANAKULI HAWAIIAN HOMESTEAD COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION
The Nanakuli Hawaiian Homestead Community Association (NHHCA) is a Hawai‘i-based 501(c)(3) community organization focused on the needs of Native Hawaiian beneficiaries on the Nānākuli homestead. Its work centers on community development, advocacy for homestead beneficiaries, and coordinating projects that increase local access to housing, healthcare, cultural programming, and commercial services. In recent years the association has remained an active entity (EIN 99-0355214) with Form 990 filings through the most recent fiscal years and ongoing project activity. NHHCA operates primarily through partnerships with development, nonprofit, and government partners to deliver multi‑use community infrastructure and affordable housing for the Waianae coast community.
Notable achievements
Nanakuli Village Center development
Led and partnered on the planning and development of the Nanakuli Village Center, a multi-use community hub that brought commercial space, clinics, and a cultural learning center to the homestead, creating new local access to services and economic opportunity.
Hale Makana O Nānākuli affordable housing
Facilitated the development of a 48-unit affordable rental housing project (Hale Makana O Nānākuli) aimed at reducing overcrowding and improving housing stability for homestead families.
Sustained asset base and project financing
Maintained significant organizational assets and continued operations through strategic partnerships and financing arrangements reflected in recent annual filings, allowing continued delivery of community development projects.
