About Pierce's Pledge

Pierce’s Pledge is a donor-facing 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in San Francisco founded by Lesley Hu in response to the 2021 death of her son, Pierce. The organization advances firearm risk reduction in family-law contexts through a formal pledge for attorneys, practical toolkits for judges and practitioners, public education, and a searchable gun-storage map.

Pierce’s Pledge runs public awareness campaigns and local programs (including fundraising events and community partnerships) and has built municipal collaborations to provide voluntary, temporary off-site firearm storage as a harm-reduction measure. It operates an active website, accepts donations, and engages family-law professionals and community partners nationally.
