Fortaleza Familiar is dedicated to the wellness and resilience of Indigenous, Chicanx/Latinx, and LGBTQ2S+ youth and their families in Colorado. About FORTALEZA FAMILIAR
Fortaleza Familiar provides culturally and linguistically relevant youth leadership, outdoor equity, and family workshops that affirm Indigenous, Chicanx/Latinx, and LGBTQ2S+ identities. Since its founding, the organization has partnered with local funders and foundations and expanded program offerings (including youth organizing and land-based outdoor initiatives) to increase access, safety, and wellness for marginalized youth and families in the Commerce City / North Denver area.

Chinook Fund multi-year support
Received multi-year foundation funding to expand outreach, strategic planning, and program capacity-building (support covering youth and family programming).
Third Wave Fund grant support
Awarded multi-year grant investment aimed at organizational development and youth leadership infrastructure, strengthening program sustainability and political education work.
Launch and growth of outdoor equity program
Developed Fortaleza En Naturaleza (seasonal camping and land-based practices) to increase access to culturally relevant outdoor experiences for historically excluded youth.
