About ASSETS SCHOOL
Assets School is an independent K–12 school in Honolulu, Hawaii, founded in 1955 and organized as a 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 99-6001152). The school specializes in educating gifted and capable students who are dyslexic or have other language-based learning differences, offering small classes, multisensory instruction, and individualized supports. In addition to on-campus K–12 programs, Assets operates the Transforming Lives Center (opened 2022) to provide community-facing diagnostic evaluations and services for children across Oʻahu and neighboring islands. The school also runs outreach and teacher-training initiatives and maintains memberships in independent-school associations to support best practices in special education. Assets is actively investing in campus improvements through its Great Minds Capital Campaign (including a new library, arts complex, makerspace, and playground community build) to create permanent, purpose-built learning spaces that better serve students with language-based learning differences.
