Tap Into Strength Bracelet Deployment

Put daily prevention and one-tap crisis connection on students’ wrists across 1,250 Sources of Strength schools.

Description

The $480,000 campaign will deploy Tap Into Strength—an NFC-enabled bracelet and tap-to-open web app—across 1,250 active Sources of Strength schools during the 2026–27 school year. It builds on one of the most rigorously evidence-backed youth mental health promotion and suicide prevention models in the field, extending that impact with a simple, daily-access tool that reduces friction when students need support.

With a single tap, students can access bite-sized daily mental wellbeing prompts designed to strengthen protective factors, alongside a stigma-free “Connect to Help” pathway. That pathway routes to integrated call/text/chat options for leading crisis supports, including 988, The Trevor Project, and Crisis Text Line—shortening time-to-help in acute moments.

Execution is anchored to a defined deployment window with a phased timeline for fundraising, sourcing and manufacturing, delivery, and measurement. Donor capital converts directly into bracelets deployed ($12 per bracelet) and into measurable engagement and documented help connections, supported by dashboards and Impact Reports. Major donors can underwrite a defined tranche of bracelets at meaningful scale, with recognition available for Impact Collective Donors ($25,000+) within the web app and in project reporting.

Why This Moment Matters

Youth mental health is a critical public health issue, and schools remain one of the most scalable environments for prevention and early intervention. Sources of Strength is positioned to execute nationally as one of the most rigorously evidence-backed youth mental health promotion and suicide prevention models in the field, with research demonstrating significant reductions in suicide attempts and deaths.

This campaign matters now because Tap Into Strength extends that evidence-backed model with a simple, daily-access tool that reduces friction at the moment students need support—strengthening protective factors through daily practices while also enabling rapid, stigma-free access to leading crisis services when risk escalates.

The opportunity is time-bound: the campaign is anchored to a defined deployment window—distribution across 1,250 active Sources of Strength schools during the 2026–27 school year—supported by a phased execution timeline (Q2 fundraising, Q3 sourcing and manufacturing, Q4 and beyond delivery and measurement).

What This Campaign Can Unlock

If Tap Into Strength succeeds, students in 1,250 active Sources of Strength schools will have a practical, always-available prevention and help-connection resource directly on their wrists. With a single tap, students can open a web app that combines daily, bite-sized mental wellbeing prompts with immediate “Connect to Help” options.

This campaign unlocks more daily touchpoints with prevention content—building protective factors like healthy coping strategies, supportive relationships, and help-seeking skills—while shortening time-to-help in acute moments through one-tap access to integrated call/text/chat pathways for crisis supports including 988, The Trevor Project, and Crisis Text Line.

For donors, the leverage is designed to be straightforward: capital converts into units deployed, and units deployed convert into measurable student engagement and documented help connections, creating a measurable prevention footprint with consistent access regardless of local staffing variability.

What This Campaign Delivers

The campaign will fund the purchase, build, and distribution of NFC-enabled Tap Into Strength bracelets plus the tap-to-open web-app experience that opens instantly on a student’s phone. The deliverable is a physical deployment at national scale across 1,250 active Sources of Strength schools during the 2026–27 school year.

Planned deliverables include: (1) bracelets distributed to students in participating schools; (2) a web app providing daily prompts to build protective factors and a “Connect to Help” pathway with integrated call/text/chat options to crisis supports (including 988, The Trevor Project, and Crisis Text Line); and (3) tracking infrastructure to monitor distribution completion and engagement metrics via dashboards and reports.

Measurement and reporting will include delivery verification (bracelets delivered and distributed), engagement analytics (tap/visit activity, streak data for repeat engagement, and participation with daily prompts), and help-connection metrics (connections initiated to crisis services via “Connect to Help” routing activity). Student wellbeing indicators are referenced as an intended outcome area; specific instruments, baselines, and reporting cadence are to be added.

Partnership Opportunity

Partnership is designed around unit-cost clarity ($12 per bracelet), national-scale deployment (1,250 schools; 2026–27), and measurable engagement and help-connection reporting. Major donors can underwrite deployment at meaningful scale, including targeted investments aligned to a defined tranche of bracelets funded at $12 per student.

Impact Collective Donors ($25,000+) will receive recognition within the Tap Into Strength web app and in all Impact Reports arising from the project.

Stewardship and accountability will include distribution tracking to confirm deployment across the 1,250 active schools and ongoing reporting via usage and engagement dashboards, including streak and crisis-access metrics. The next step is to confirm the intended investment amount and recognition preference; Sources of Strength will then provide a deployment plan and reporting outline for the funded bracelet volume.
